Nickle/silver coloring

+

I am a builder of custom fly fishing rods that have all nickle/silver hardware. How can I get some color into the nickle/silver? What colors with what technique? Thanks

I would look into tinted electrophoretic coatings if I were you, I think. They are very durable and would give the shiny nickel or silver a nice translucent tint in whatever shade you like. Capsco Inc. [Greenville SC], Henshell Corp. [Philadelphia], Highland Plating [L.A.], Quaker Precision Coatings [Johnston RI], and SImoCO [St. Paul MN] are a few places that may offer this service.

Techniclad [White Hall, MD] can probably give you the names of other jobshops offering this service.

Of course, you could also lacquer, powder coat, or plate them--it's a pretty broad question.
