Plating Magnesium AZ91D

My Chief Engineer recently asked me to search for information to coat magnesium AZ91D and it is for a major customer. Please help and advise what are the various methods and the best in the industries.

There are two methods to plate Mg. On method is zincate, cyanide copper than plate with what ever metal. Another method is activate than Electroless nickel plate than plate with what ever metal. Both process use a cleaner and etch step.
