I'm looking for information on restoring a bronze statue.

Teddy,

Brush Plating has been used on several occasions to repair bronze statues. Since Brush Plating uses hand held electrodes you can concentrate the plating where you need it and you can do the work in place or in a shop.

Brush Plating can be used to fill in pits or corroded areas, as cap over larger repairs for blending or for color blending. If toucan let me know what kind of restoration you are doing we can swept we can do to help.

To restore your bronze statue, you must address its structure; was it dropped, or hit by a car? - and its shape; is one of the legs crushed, or an arm broken off?

You can solve these problems with your TIG welder, and a full set of grinders, files and sandpapers. Or, depending on how your piece is damaged, you might be able to fix it with plastics, similar to the way you would fill a dent in your car fender.

You can make the surface blend with the surrounding, undamaged areas with handmade paints, or with traditional patina chemical techniques.
