January 22, 2009

Is there a national standard for the appearance of 420 Stainless Steel? What kind of appearance should the steel have under this classification?

Thanks

The scope of steel classification standards normally cover chemical analysis and heat treatment condition. Surface finish is generally as produced by the mill, forge or foundry. Another standard is normally used to cover that.
