Material recommendation for pump shaft for salt water usage

For the salt water service turbine type pumps we face problems of corrosion in the shaft due to salt water usage. Earlier we were using EN8 and was not suitable for our usage. Any one can suggest if 316L can be suitable for this purpose of saltwater usage in the pump shaft.
