Hi, S. Your subject embraces everything from mining to recycling of three different metals. You might want to narrow it down by 99.9 percent before you start writing :-)

Please pick an individual subject like recovery of silver from X-ray films, or recovery of copper from defective printed wiring boards, or recovery of gold from abandoned mines by cyanide leaching, and you will still be able to write a book-length report. Good luck.
