Barrel Electropolishing small parts of SS 

.

We want to electropolish small parts ( 1/4 inch long and 1/8 inch in diameter ) in batches of 2000 at a time in a barrel.The parts are made of 316 SS.

1.What is experience of barrel electropolishing?

2.Will it work as well as rack ?

3.Any particular care we should take ?

Any suggestions?

Mr. Malo, Most electropolishing processes that utilize bulk methods are proprietary to individual companies.

Hi, R. Unfortunately I guess I have to agree with Dave. I did a quick lit search and came up completely empty on barrel electropolishing. I've seen in electropolishing done in tiny little bowls for dental and medial needs, and I've seen large production electropolishing in a rack operation, but I've never personally seen a barrel electropolishing operation.
