Ceramic Coating for Biomass Gasification Environment?

My name is John Tomasi. My company is a manufacturer of biomass gasification equipment to provide energy in the form of hot water and both low and high pressure steam for a variety of commercial and industrial applications.
The internal construction of our gasifiers is refractory with the exception of a few stainless steel components. We are searching for an appropriate ceramic coating to prolong the life of these components. Most of our systems are operating 24/7 and depending on the selected biomass fuel can see temperatures of 1100C.-1150C. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thick ceramic coatings will suffer due to their highly different thermal expansion rate compared to steel, so, perhaps a PVD coating would meet your needs. They are normally very thin (less than 0.0003-0.0004") but are very adherent and resist oxidation and a good degree of chemical attack at high temperatures very well. Examples would be Titanium Nitride, Titanium-Aluminum Nitride, Chromium Nitride.
