Getting eching marks in my electropolished SS pipes [India]

We have a SS336 pipe and when put in for electropolishing and removed we get an etching mark in the center of the pipe. We have tried out all solutions but have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Hi, Varun. The best easily accessible article on electropolishing of stainless steel is the chapter on that subject in the Electroplating Engineering Handbook. The American Electroplaters Society used to offer an outstanding "Illustrated Lecture" (35 mm slide show plus lecture booklet) on the subject, and you might ask around at your local platers society meetings if any associate has a copy.

The problem with saying that you have tried all solutions but welcome suggestions is that no reader is likely to spend their time carefully proposing a suggestion knowing that you're likely to instantly dismiss their effort saying you already tried it and it didn't work :-)

So it would be better to explicitly describe what you've already tried. Good luck.
