Coating Alternatives to Reduce Sharp Edges for Automotive Interior Stampings [Michigan]

We are a medium sized US based auto interior supplier. I am attempting to issue a general guideline for inexpensive stamping finishes/coatings. Environment is dry. Do not want the part to rust. Do not want to debur the part, would rather coat it to reduce sharp edges. Currently we e-coat parts to accomplish this task. Stamping comes in contact with plastics including Ploycarbonate, Nylon, ABS and fasteners with a Electrolytic plated Zinc, followed by trivalent chromium, and a sealer. Typical stamping thickness ranges from 0.040" to 0.100".

The majority of automotive components are coated in a automotive quality polyester semi matt black powder having a gloss level of 18%+/-2% @ 60°angle. Should pass 1000 hours ASTM B-117 [link is to spec at TechStreet] with your pre-treatmnt electrocoat.
