Melting yellow gold and changing to white

I have a question. My mother has given me the diamonds from the wedding ring my father gave her. They are in a yellow gold setting and we have some other rings etc. we are having melted down to make a new setting. Is there any way to change it to white gold instead of another yellow gold setting?
