"Microns" -- what about it?

I am feeling a touble by using this word whenever I deal with junior engineer in the lab, because they ask me about this.

" in my notice this is roughness that is associated with the surfaces, I mean that is perpendicular distance b/w well defined crest and trugh is it true.

threre is a doubt about that it is " the chip or powder size that is obtained after grinding operation.

please explain about the answer what is correct?

A micron is a micrometer, it is one millionth of a meter, Sajjad. It is a unit of measurement that can apply both to surface roughness and to powder size -- and to other things like coating thickness as well.
