Process of paint of carbon steel pipes

Dear Sirs,

We do paint on phosphatizied carbon steel ( standard BS 1139) pipes. What is the general composition of paint and thinner. and application of thinner ?

Also please help me in understanding the terms pigment, solvent and binder.

How quality of the paint finished surface is checked ?

Hopefully someone can summarize that field for you, Kamaljit, but I can't. Sorry. I have several books on my shelf here devoted solely to paint testing, and several more devoted solely to paint formulation, and one just on thinners. Your questions cover a huge amount of ground.

I think you need to have a paint supplier or paint consultant spend a few hours with you to get you started. Good luck!
