Silk screen painting on aluminum blanks
for pots and pans [Pakistan]
August 8, 2007
Hi! I am trying a finish for aluminium cookware. We make the sheet
in the first process and then we cut the aluminum sheet into
different circles or diameters. I want to silk screen the circle of
aluminum in four colours. Please tel me which silk screen ink will be
used which can resist heat or what process i will have to adopt to
obtain four coloured silk screen ink on the aluminum circle because
after the coating is applied on the circle it has to be pressed under
a hydralic press which will give the aluminum circle a perfect shape
of a pan or a pot. Please guide me how i can achieve these results?

I think that you have the cart in front of the horse. Finishing
operations normally follow mechanical and or some chemical operations
because of damage to the "finish" by those operations. I am not aware
of any colored inks that are heat resistant, especially high heat
like a frying pan.
