Nickel-chromium coating on 316 stainless steel piston cylinders

Hard Chrome
Plating pointer

I have bad wear on the internals on my product filler piston cylinders that are manufactured out of 316 stainless steel, the piston seals are made of teflon which comes incontact with the internals of the piston cylinders.
Could I coat the internals of the piston cylinders with Nickel Chromium to extend my cylinder life?

Hi, Brett. I think hard chrome plating would be more appropriate than nickel-chrome. The chrome layer in decorative nickel-chrome is only perhaps a micron thick. Please see if our Chrome Plating Tutorial is of any value to you. Good luck.
