Gold plating
+++++++Dear sir, I have bought plating equipment in the USA, brand maxim by becker. it was delivered in a portable case, chemicals were not included, I bought those in England. gold solution, silver solution, nickel strike, and chrome stripper. the disk which I read in my computer tells me what to plug in and what to adjust electrically. on one wire is a alligator clip and on the other a threaded steel pole. the set comes with rubber gloves and cotton wool. am I correct in assuming that the alligator clip is attached to the object, and that cotton wool goes on the pole which I dip into the gold solution, and spread on the object. please be so kind and let me know. kind regards

You should have received MSDS sheets and tech data sheets with the chemicals, and you must not proceed without them. But, yes, it sounds like you have at least a general understanding of the mechanics. It probably won't prove as easy as you hope! I suggest you invest in Rubinstein's Electrochemical Metallizing. Good luck.
