Explanation of the Theory of "Vapour Blasting"

++++++

My company manufactures Aviation and Aerospace Hardware. We recently were given a requirement to "Vapour Blast" some 6061 Aluminum with 50 / 100 micron glass beads. What are the advantages of this "type" finishing process as opposed to what most "beadblasting" processes would give you? What benefit does the degreaser, boiling hot water and beads give you (in this process) that another process does / will not give?

++++++

Because it removes very little material. It also does not compress the outer layer. Result is a very fine matte surface.
