Conductive finish for colled rolled steel.

-

I am looking for a finish I can apply to colled rolled steel that is conductive. I have EMI issues on a product and and am currenly using clear zinc on my CRS chassis, but the coating is not conductive enough. Anys suggestions? Someone suggested "alkaline zinc", but am not familiar with it.

Zinc can be electroplated from an acid bath, a cyanide bath, or an alkaline non-cyanide bath. "Someone" was suggesting a bath you could use, and perhaps describing the relative advantages of it, but I am not aware of any significant difference in conductivity of the plated surface that might result from using one zinc bath versus another.

The clear chromate you are using will give you a lower contact resistance than would a yellow chromate.
