Hi Mohan. Processes such as soldering are quite complex, filling entire books, and even whole shelves in technical libraries, so it unfortunately isn't possible to offer a single cause for the problem unless a lot of data is offered. So let's start with the socket: is it tin plated, silver plated, gold plated, electroless nickel plated, or something else? Is it made of brass, beryllium copper, or phosphorous bronze? Is the solder lead-free? What flux is being used? "Dry solder" may mean different things to different readers. To me it means the mottled crystalline look which is the result of something moving during the critical seconds while the solder is cooling. We would like to try to help, but a lot of data must be supplied first. Thanks!
