Reducing energy waste in baking coated aluminum/steel parts
++++++
Good day
I'm seeking for a way to save the cost of baking the parts, currently I'm using the LPG gas to bake my coated aluminum & steel part. Unfortunately, the cost of the gas getting high when I seasonly (5 hours on oven & stop for 4 hours) stop the production due to my packing dept. unable to cope the qty that we produce lately. Is there any way to reduce the gas usage but maintain the temperature in oven? we are using conveyor type & temperature control at 240 celcius.
Thank You,

I'm making the assumption that you are powder coating because of the high oven temp. Manipulate your oven to fit your needs. When you know that the conveyor is going to stop for an extended period of time, turn off the burners(and only the burners, leave the fans on so you don't have to wait for the purge cycle). Turn the burners back on giving enough time for the oven to come up to about 350 degrees before you restart the conveyor.
It might take some practice to figure out how much time to allow depending on how fast the oven comes back up, but it's all in the timing. This method will not effect the powder unless the temp is not high enough before the conveyor is turned on(you could undercure the parts).
Another direction would be to make a staging area for painted parts between the paint line and packing. That way you could run all of your painted product and then just shut the paint line off. Don't have enough room? I'll bet you have a staging area in front of the washer.

Hi Sir
So sorry for miss direct you, actually I'm doing Electrocoating industry, however the susgestion maybe can solve my problem by calculating the temperature decrease from time to time to maintain the temperature. We unable to apply fan in the oven, this will cause all the dust in the oven stick on the part. Can I substitute to other souce rather cheaper than using LPG gas?
