Hard anodizing of aluminum cookware costing and setup parameters

++++++

What does it cost to build a small hard anodizing line for cookware production (capacity of 500 cooking utensil daily)?
what will be the setup parameters (current density, voltage, acid concentricity, time relationship) to perform such operation?

Hello, Ahmed. Thanks for visiting finishing.com

You didn't say whether this was a hypothetical situation where you just want a cost number to plug into a thesis, or whether you actually have the intention to building a hardcoat anodizing line.

The size would depend on whether the installation would run 8 hours per day or 24, so before you even get started we see a 3:1 range. But for a thesis you could say it would cost something like one million in the USA; probably a little more.

If this is a real installation, you need to retain a consultant or align yourself with an experienced designer of anodizing lines. There are excellent anodizing books available ranging from "The Surface Treatment of Aluminum and its Alloys" to Robert Probert's brand new "Aluminum How To". While discussing current density, voltage, etc. could be helpful if you have substantial experience in this, it can be a disservice if you don't. It's rather like someone asking where they should start the incision line for an appendectomy; if they are an experienced surgeon and asking a 2nd opinion about something they just read in the JAMA it's one thing, whereas if it's a layman asking it would be ludicrous.

Please take some time to explain your situation to us, then this dialog can be improved. Thanks.
