Is roller painting a car with cellulose possible [UK]

My name is Lionel Hamsworth (mature (vintage?) jazz musician - one man band keyboard guitar and vocals and I live in Bournemouth UK.

I have a VW LT28 motor camper and want to repaint the bottom half.
The rust has been sorted but I need to know if it is possible to paint on cellulose paint with a roller.

Of course it's possible, but it will look really terrible. the only satisfactory method is to spray it.

Its possible to paint a car with a roller, a friend of mine, did some years ago. Another quistion is will you like the result ? depends of what you expect.
