Documentation needed on suitability of zinc plating and chromating

+++++

We are working with a company that is designing a new valve. They have asked us some technical questions that we "know" the answer to but need some technical support to verify- such as a journal, paper or publication that could substantiate our answers.
We need documentation on the Paint-ability of Chromates.
Any information - as in a chart - that demonstrates the durability of zinc plated steel vs. Stainless Steel
Any chart or list of media that could be passed through a valve that WON'T CAUSE the zinc plate to fail
And, finally...
A reference that would indicate the normal amount of attrition (corrosion or wear) of zinc plate per year under "normal" interior circumstances.
