Galvanized vs. zinc anodized bicycle chain [California]

+++++

Simple answer . I am a cyclist, and I want to protect my horse with the best chain available. I was told that dipped galvanized steel was better than zinc anodized but the gentleman could not give me a simple scientific explanation.

There rarely are simple answers, and your question is no exception. The truth is a consumer can virtually never make a purchasing decision based on the alleged technology of the metal finishing, but only on the reputation of the supplier. I doubt that anyone is offering zinc anodized chain, but if they are it's probably the best, on the principle that this is an expensive, exotic technology, so if they're doing it there is little point in cutting corners.
