Your question is not clear, there are many ways to check pH, of the DM/DI water, you have liquid indicators , you have portable PH meters, and you have PH papers of wide range 0-14 PH papers, so you can buy any of this and use.

First of two simultaneous responses -- +++++

Special techniques are required to accurately measure the pH of DI or distilled water. There are kits available from various supply houses that contain the solutions required.

Second of two simultaneous responses -- +++++

His problem is not quite that simple. A pH meter does not work directly for very high purity DI water. He did not state the quality of the water. He can not add an indicator to his solution as he is going to do a liquid liquid extraction afterwards. It is a poor substitute, but it might be accurate enough to get a very tight range set of pH papers and take one drop off the solution out of the beaker with a transfer pipet and put that drop on the paper and read immediately. The indicators in the papers might contaminate his operation if he were to put the strip directly in the solution.
Since he has not stated a clear message of exactly what he is trying to do and how he is trying to do it, a good answer is not possible. Quality of the answer is always limited by the quality of the question.
