"Chrome" paint that looks real [Kentucky]

++++

Does anyone know of an automotive one-step or two-step paint mfgr. chrome that looks pretty real?

Hello Jon. If you look at letters from the early days on this site, myself and others said at that time that chrome paints don't look much like chrome. That was true then, and it is probably still true of stuff you'd get for $5 -$10 in a spray can.

But the high end, proprietary, systems you can buy today do look an awful lot like chrome. Several of this site's supporting advertisers offer such a system. There are other suppliers, but we don't want to get into a Ford Truck / Chevy Truck argument here, especially on the internet where it's difficult to determine the vested interests of the posters. So let's leave it that today's high end chrome paint looks quite good.

The best paint that I have found in a spray can is Chrome paint from Seymour. Now, don't try to clear coat these chrome colors as the "chrome" would turn grayish and loose all reflectivity.

I purchased the Seymour Chrome Paint and it was slighly better than the Walmart shelf brands and would not work on a bumper, or anything that is made out of Chrome, Silver-plate, so don't waste you cash...there's no relection like the real thing...it actually looks like a primer.
