Can you anodize zinc?
++++
We are producing a part which is an aluminum extrusion, Alloy
#6005-T5. We want to change to a Zinc, or Zinc aluminum casting. What
type of plating can we now use to replace the gold anodizing we were
doing?

Although zinc can be anodized it is not really a commercial
process and it's not for decorative effect. Yellow chromated on zinc
will look reasonably like gold anodizing but certainly not a good
color match. If you don't need conductivity, maybe electrophoretic
lacquering would give you the appearance you want.
