Alloy rim restoration [Australia]
++++
I have just purchased a Holden Commodore (Chevrolet)
Station Wagon which has very stylish factory alloy rims.
Problem is they look really old and it appears as if they
have had some sort of glossy finish on them when new, which
seems to have come off in places leaving a corrosion-like
pitted effect on the rims.
Would a mild abrasive paste be advisable, or is there a
professional service that can restore them to their original
glory.
Cheers

Hi Peter, Take it to a Professional polisher, although it
could be cheaper to buy new rims. They probably had a
coating on them which you have to remove before you polish
the Alloy, not a job to do at home unless you are retired.
Trust me I have used 14 tubes of
Autosol Metal Polish

Bultaco motor and rims.. Cheers Luke in Oz
