Need list of different platings for steel

I need a list of the different plating for steel with that tells what the properties are like (hardness, corrosion resistance, etc.)This will be used on plastic injection molds.

Hi, Farley.

A good, but brief, introduction to the various types of plating can be found in the brochure "Understanding Surface Finishing", available from nasf.org for a very nominal charge (under $5). When you have a tentative idea what plating you want to use, you can check one of the plating textbooks listed in our "must-have booklist" for additional information about the properties and application methods.

Plating on plastics is a whole subject in itself, best addressed by "Standards & Guidelines for Electroplated Plastics" =>
if you can find a copy. Good luck.
