Seeking rechroming of 1966 Nova trunk moulding [Tennessee]

I need a diecast rear trunk moulding rechromed from a 1966 Nova S.S. It has some pitting in the outside perimeter chrome. I have been told it is not a suitable item to rechrome because there are small shallow grooves (by design)along the entire four foot length in the center area that possibly will not plate smoothly or evenly. I have seen others that appeared to have been rechromed with good success.
