Chromium Carbide vs. Stellite for Edge building

++++

One of our customers is, at present, depositing stellite grade 12 on a chamfer of 2mm X 3mm by welding on a Punch. Then he gives a negative chamfer to the punch by ball milling the deposited material. We have suggested him to go for Chromium carbide instead of Stellite to reduce cost. The hardness requirement is 49 HRC. Is this a correct suggestion? Please let us know.
