Getting mercury to adhere to copper
-
I am not a plater by profession, just wanted to know how to get
mercury to adhere to copper?

R.W., If you are not a plater by profession, why in the world are
you working with mercury? Mercury is a hazardous material. I hope you
have had training in handling such materials and that you are
practicing what you've been taught.

I played with mercury as a child, as did many other children. What
we did not realize then (and I'm not sure that everybody knows it
even yet) is that it's a cumulative poison. See 'mad hatter'.
You can't even buy a mercury thermometer anymore, and in that case
the mercury is safely sealed away.
