As a side issue to this topic.
Does anyone know what the electrical resistivity is of Silver Tarnish (Silver Sulfide)? We have silver plated over a nickel underplate all over a copper base metal and the silver does tarnish over time. These are electrical parts and the contact resistance can be a problem if it is too high. B700 [link is to spec at TechStreet] just mentions that the resistance is high, but does not provide any more detail.
As far as I know the only way to remove the tarnish is either with abrasive or chemically. And both will remove some amount of the silver.
Thanks
