Paint plugs in an e-coat system

-

We are currently in the process of switching to an e-coat system from our current powder coat system. The main concern right now is paint plugs. Currently silicon plugs are being used, but we worry what will happen with the e-coat and dip tank if these plugs fall out and break down. Will silicon plugs destroy our e-coat? Is there any other paint plug in the market that will not cause problems with an e-coat system? Thank you, Josh Kundert

Plugs are available in nearly any type of plastic, and I'm sure there are satisfactory ones for this application. See the banner ad at the top of the page for several suppliers.

You may use silicone that is fully cured and have no release of any kind. Consider to check with suppliers before using such masking products.
