Letter 3042 Mid-Phos EN salt spray problems- I am currently having problems with Mid-Phos electroless nickel passing salt spray testing. The process goes like this. Perchlor degreaser followed by a short electrocleaning. Next comes a 40% acid activator, followed by a Woods Nickel Strike, before the EN. Phil Pace
- How many hours do you expect the deposit to pass in NSS? What is the thickness of your deposit? The Mid-Phos, unlike the high phos, has relatively poor corrosion resistance properties. The plating thickness is highly important, there is no point in checking NSS in case that the thickness is less than 25 microns.
- I would like information on electroless nickel, such as the electropotential mechanism on zincate with Stabilzer of lead, and thiourea. Any help would be appreciated. Harold Koh
