Going into pickling, passivation, electropolishing of SS business?
++++
I am thinking about going into business in the pickling & passivation of stainless steel and possibly electropolishing small stainless steel components that do not require a large overhead crane or large baths. Treatment of effluent is expensive so I would like to explore all avenues and appreciate any advice on cost saving measures with regard to setting up and conducting new business in the UK.
Many Thanks,

That's a pretty broad inquiry for an internet posting, Mike, since each of the three subjects fill several books. But to answer briefly, there are more environmentally benign passivation solutions these days, based on citric acid rather than nitric acid; and there are electropolishing solutions that do not involve strong acids. If you search our Chemical directory you will find suppliers for both. Good luck.
