Gold plating aluminum and steel while bolted together

++++

Dear Sir/ma'am,

I have a roller skate plate and truck assembly that I need gold plated. The plate is made of aluminum, and the truck assembly is made of steel. The associated mounting hardware (screws, bolts and nuts) are aluminum (I guess).

Here is the problem. The truck assembly is riveted to the the roller skate plate. And I have heard that plating the two metals, while mounted together is not possible. My problem is this - I do not have the rivets that are used to keep the two pieces together, nor do I have a source for obtaining them.

The goal is to get the entire assembly, mounting hardware included - gold plated. I have had it done on my existing skates about 5 years ago, but the company that I had do it, is no longer in business and all I did was basically drop off my skates (boots attached) and 3 weeks later, they were done, all parts gold plated, no questions asked. The questions I need answered are as follows: Can the parts be plated while mounted together?

Thanks,
