Electroplating Semiconductors

++++

Hi,

I am studying for my Phd and am investigating ways of plating semiconductors. As these are highly non-conducting I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion of how to plate with an electroplating process. Some colleagues plate Pd on semiconductors by electroless methods but I want to try to find out more about preparations or techniques for a normal electroplating procedure. Basically I want to know if theres anything I can do to encourage these type of materials to plate more easily.

Regards,
