Sink mfgr can't get the copper dark brown

++++

I am trying to apply Liver of Sulphur [linked by editor to product info at Dick Blick] to a large copper sink to achieve a dark rich brown finish. I have been unable to get the desired results. I have applied very dilute application and very strong solution both hot and cold with the same results, turns it black. I then scotch brite the surface to get the texture I want and it ends up a purple-gray color.

Any help would be great, Thanks

You can use other methods to achieve the brown patina you refer to.
