How do I get a more aggressive
parkerizing finish? [Oregon]
++++
I'm using a basic parkerizing process using phosphoric acid,
manganese dioxide powder, water and
Steel Wool [link is to product info at Rockler]. The results
have been nice but I'm looking for a little more aggressive finish
using the same chemicals maybe in a different proportion or different
procedure. I've seen some parkerizing that has a crystalline
appearance and that's pretty much what I'm looking for: Even a little
pitting would work for me.
Thanks,

Try Zinc Phosphate Parkerizing. It is grainy in appearence and can
be Blackened.
