PNP Plating

++++

I am a chemist working in Newark New Jersey. One of my customers has a gold watch and said the band and case were plated by an acid gold process called PNP plating. I heard of electroless plating, acid bath plating, vapor deposition plating, but not of PNP plating. What is PNP plating? If you find the answer, please refer me to some literature to learn more about it. I have the Metal Finishing Guidebook, but I could not find any reference.

Thanks,

A quick web search indicates PNP is Palladium-Nickel plating usually used as un undercoat.
