Re-painting an old fiberglass run-a-bout

++++

O.K. here it is. I bought an old fiberglass run-a-bout.(80's) It has been re-painted at some time over the years. The dark green has just lost all good looks, and I want to re-paint it as just a do-it-yourself hobby. how would I go about doing this. Do I sand it, then prime it, and paint it..any tips you have would be greatly appriciated. thanks.
