Activation of aluminum film surfaces on silicon

+++

hi, I'm looking for some treatment method to activate the surface of aluminum ( and aluminum alloys). I'm looking for some sort of chemical treatment to activate the surface for further treatments. The aluminum is coated on silicon wafers (a thickness of close to 3000-4000 Angstroms). The treatment should therefore not damage it too much. Thanks in advance, Ranjith

In the electroplating field, aluminum is zincated before other treatments. Perhaps zincating will activate the surface for your application.
