The effects of changing from solid anodes to anode buttons/balls

+++

We planning to shift from anode bars to anode balls. Would it balance the distribution from top to bottom considering there would more free space in the upper portion of the anode basket? Is there an effect in the solution concentration regarding anode/cathode ratio?

Please tell us what plating solution you are referring to, Nerwin, as you haven't said yet, and it might make a difference in someone's answer. But more uniform plating distribution will come from an anode that starts lower than the top of the parts and stops short of the bottom of the parts than from an anode which starts level with the top of the parts and ends level with the bottom because the latter condition makes for dogboning. Moreover, the baskets are supposed to be kept basically full anyway. Good luck.
