Protection of brass/brown war plaque

  +++

Hi ...I'm an Industrial Spray painter from New Zealand ..a client has approached me and asked If I knew of any process/chemical that can be used to protect a recently fitted war memorial Brass plaque with brass letters and brown background ...would a 2K clear coat effect the brown surface of the plaque ? ...cheers

Things should always be tested, perhaps on the back of the plaque, especially because today's high-tech finishes may not always actually be the traditional finish they appear to be. There are half a dozen ways to simulate brass these days.

But I doubt that just about any clear finish will affect either the shiny brass or the browned brass. There is a big advantage to brass lacquer, though, which is easy removability.
