Suggest best procedure for blackening surgical needles [India]

Please suggest the best method of blackening surgical needles that will be non corrosive , non toxic & medically acceptable.

We manufacture stainless steel surgical needles that are usually electropolished for a bright finish.We now require to blacken them. Can you suggest a simple method to blacken these needles. The blackening needs to be non toxic, non corrosive and medically acceptable.
