Need only meds for Cyanide Poisoning ...
not the whole kit! [Florida]
+++
I am looking specifically for Medications for a Cyanide Poisoning.
I only need Amyl Nitrate, Sodium Nitrate, and Sodium Thiosulfate. My
department has many of the Lilly Cyanide Antidote Kits, but the cost
is outrageous for the multiple kits we keep on hand. We have on hand,
the supplies (i.e., needles, NG tubes, syringes, etc.) that are
included in the "kits" and need only to replace our expiring meds at
a lower cost. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,

I would suggest contacting a pharmacy/pharmacy supply house. It is
legally tricky to get the amyl nitrite, as you probably know. You
might also check with whoever runs the Tampa EMS service and see what
they do.

Talk to the best pharmacy in Bartow. Show them your current
product. They should be able to get the material that you need and
can tell you exactly what you will need a Dr's perscription for. The
world wants you to have it and the regulators do not want you to have
it.

My experience is that the state or county "poison control center"
has the best experience in locating these supplies. The antidotes are
so dangerous that I understand that in the U.K. only oxygen is
administered anymore; you may want to make sure that you are
operating on the best up-to-the-minute protocol for cyanide
poisoning, as medical opinion on this may be changing.
