Paint peels off concrete driveway

+++

A concrete patio 25 sq ft, does not hold paint. When it gets wet, the paint (latex) can be pulled off like a skin. What product can help? Primer, Sealer, and top coat finish in color with pricing.

Thank you,

Maybe 25 ft square? Have a concrete contractor take a look. In order to paint, better drainage under the concrete may be needed. Alternatively, remove all paint and apply an overlay of colored concrete.

To paint concrete you need an epoxy coating to get the adhesion.

I have done exactly what you are trying to do when I was living in Arizona for 21 years. Out there the sun will fade and peel any type of inferior coating no matter what the brand name is or the manufacturer claims their labs have proven will work,in a matter of weeks. We used this formula while I worked as a painter in a custom steel shop in Tucson Arizona:

First of all, make sure it is paint and oil free, if not, grinding the concrete clean will do this. You can rent a grinder and discs for this from your construction tool rental, or you can contact International Surface Preparation in Texas. If this procedure is not necessary, go ahead and clean the concrete with 3 gallons of white vinegar and diluted with two gallons of water (5 gallons total). You can use sulfuric acid as a wash but be very careful, dilute this one part acid to 4 parts water. After you have scrubbed entire surface rinse with dilute vinegar and let it dry on its own. After that use an industrial type epoxy paint if it is allowed for private use in your state. This should do it. Some of the floors I have done back in 1989 are still painted except for a few small chips from heavy machine usage.
