Can bright dip help in soldering/ brazing on to copper bar?

+++

We braze Silver Cadmium Oxide tip onto copper bars and prior to brazing if the surface free of contamnition, then the solder flows freely. I have told to bright dip. Also after we mfg the part we would like the parts to look clean as well as have a longer shelf life i.e not to tarnish or oxidize.Was told to bright dip. Can you advise?

Thank you,

What is the easliest and simplest way to bright dip copper or brass bars? This is to stop oxidation or tarnishing.

An oxidizing agent is needed for bright dipping. Nitric acid is a possibility, but sulfuric acid plus stabilized hydrogen peroxide is very popular for that purpose. After bright dipping the bright appearance can be prolonged by application of sodium benzotriazole.
