Gold Ion Concentration
[Michigan]
+++
I am an undergraduate electrical engineering student at Michigan
Technological University. My senior design project involves the
measurement of gold ion concentration in a solution containing many
unknowns. Our project is an attempt to automate the process and
provide real-time results. We have looked at AAS, but would like to
try another option, one that would be less time-consuming to set up.
Would anyone know where to look to find which analytical methods
(particularly UV-VIS Spectrophotometry) would provide the measurement
we are searching for? Our searches in the library haven't proven
fruitful in searching for any information about gold ions.

Grab a chemistry buddy and go to Hach.com they have lots
of elementry to some sophisticated analysis for many
elements. Then, go to the internet and try plating solution
analysis or "gold analysis" . you should get hundreds of
citations from the more specific search and hundreds of
thousands on the generic search.
